For Hari Simran it has been an honor and a blessing to learn this incredible science of Ayurvedic Medicine from her dear friend and teacher, Dr. Vasant Lad. Dr. Lad is a Master Ayurvedic physician and the founder of the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Hari Simran was his very first patient when he opened the first clinic in 1984 and has been studying with him ever since. She received her certificate from the institute in 1990 and has been practicing the Ayurvedic lifestyle and giving workshops ever since, and guess what? It works!
Ayurveda is a holistic system of Medicine. It is considered to many scholars to be the oldest healing science. Ayurveda means “Science of Life” Ayu means “life” or daily living. Veda means “Knowing.” This healing system has been practiced in India for more than 5,000 years and is often called the “Mother of All Healing.” The principles of many of the natural healing systems now familiar in the west have their roots in Ayurveda, including Homeopathy and Polarity Therapy.
As a science of self-healing, Ayurveda encompasses diet and nutrition, lifestyle, exercise, rest and relaxation, meditation, breathing exercises and medicinal herbs along with massage. Ayurveda is a cleansing and rejuvenation program for healing body, mind and spirit. Numerous adjunct therapies such as sound, color, and aromatherapy may also be employed. The purpose of Ayurveda is to acquaint you to lifestyle choices and learn the self-healing modalities that are right for you to create, maintain, or restore health and balance.
